The Internet, More Than A Fad

The Internet, which was invented around the 1950s and 60s by the ARPA, or the Advanced Research Projects Agency, for military use in the Cold War, has become a major part of many people's lives. Whether you like it or not, the Internet is a part of the world, and will most likely stay that way for a long time. However this is definitely not a bad thing. The Internet connects us to the world around us, and even if we were completely alone, we could still communicate with friends, as long as there is coverage in that area. In a way that is not completely different from conglomeration, the Internet consumed the other types of media, such as television, newspapers, magazines, and radio. Even though it hasn't demassified any medias yet, it is only a matter of time before television shows become more popular on the web than on TV, and all the advertisers flee online. This will cause TV to become less popular, and perhaps even transfer completely to online, although that is a very slight possibility. Whatever your opinion of the Internet is, it will be around for a very long time, and isn't going to go away very easily.
