Kurtz to Lead US Bishops- Courier Journal
One of the stories on the front page of Wednesday's Courier Journal talks about how Archbishop Kurtz, Louisville's archbishop, has been elected as the leader of all of the United States' Catholic bishops. The article also focuses on how Kurtz swears to follow Pope Francis and lead fairly. The reason that this news article is important and relevant is because it puts Kentucky, and Louisville specifically, on the map. With a large amount of national news coming from Kentucky, such as Mitch McConnell fighting against Obamacare and how Kentucky's medical care website was one of the few to work properly, Kentucky is getting much more publicity than it normally does, which could help our tourism industry.
